Transcending Red #IV is an oil painting on wood panel. It began with formless veils of primary, cool, red tones becoming more active when warmer tones were added. Expanding between light and darkness, fields of color emerge and solidify into horizontals. Horizontals reflecting infinite growth and potential, perceived by us in the upright here and now.
These fields of color reveal the feelings of their particular connections—evocative relationships of the colors and light filtering between them. Luminous, or veiled and hidden, these color relationships reflect infinite human experience.
