"The Rise of The Melting Pot" is part of a series titled, "Turbulence", which is motivated by melancholy and a feeling of loss in reaction to the violence and destruction that surrounds our everyday life. The landscape paintings from this series share an instinctive love for symmetry, which is ingrained in my Persian heritage. What seems to look like accidental spills in these works, matures to haunting and ghost-like explosions that rise like smoke and leave debris of delicate stains, linear lines and thicken shadows. These remnants are fragments of looming landscapes that translate to multiple layers of depth, and for me internalize the harsh realities of our time.
