Upstream/Windward-Downstream/Leeward is a research initiative that studies areas affected by flooding throughout Bani Riverâs watershed in the Dominican Republic. Within the North Atlantic hurricane basin, the project will focus on how poorly performed agricultural practices, deforestation and, consequently, droughts lead to destructive flooding caused by hurricanes. The analysis of the watershed's basins, geography, hydrology, forestry, infrastructure and architecture will be developed through a two-part strategic approach.
